Speech

Commercial Speech

The Alexa loses her voice commercial was released for the super bowl 2018 game, for the fourth quarter of the game.  The purpose of this commercial was to promote the speaker Alexa. The author of the commercial promoted Alexa in a comedically way, by getting famous singers, chefs, and actresses. The super bowl is one of the biggest games of the year, having 111.5 Million viewers. The author got well known people to feature in the commercial to make the audience more engaged, by having someone they know on the screen promote the commercial. The audience of the commercial is made for anyone. Also, why the author got a variety of famous, well known people. This was beneficial because If one person watching did not know Cardi B, they may know the chef, Gordon Ramsey. The author succeeded by putting a variety of well-known people in his commercial. The author of the commercial uses pathos to persuade the audience. The author using feelings in the commercial to get people engaged in the content. The commercial was meant to be comedic, leaving a remembrance of the commercial in the persons head. This shows the author used pathos when creating the commercial. Another way the author had people remember the product was to repeat the product often. In the commercial they always refer to Alexa. This is used to help promote the name, so people remember the name. Alexa is known for helping asset someone with just their voice. In the commercial they demonstrate that a lot with each scene always saying “Alexa can you” and then finish the sentence. This helps the audience understand how Alexa works. The commercial is comical because every time a person ask Alexa to do something the app will never do as they say. This is meant to make the commercial funny, leaving the audience with a laugh. By doing that, it can be a little risky having Alexa not do the commands you ask because it portray to the audience that Alexa does not work correctly, the author purposely did this to make the commercial comical to the audience.
